A Strong Math Program Without Giving Up the Flexibility of Homeschooling
JumpStart Math provides structured, engaging mathematics instruction for homeschool students from Pre-Algebra through Algebra II. My goal is to give students the guidance, instruction, and accountability they need while allowing families to maintain the flexibility that makes homeschooling work for them.
Who Is It For?
JumpStart Math is a good fit for homeschool students who:
Need a structured math class during the school day
Would benefit from learning in a small-group environment
Need additional support with their current math program
Want to strengthen foundational skills before moving forward
Are ready for greater challenge
Learn best through discussion, questioning, and problem solving
Want to become more confident and independent in mathematics
What Students Can Expect
Students will work through mathematical concepts with an emphasis on understanding the WHY, rather than simply memorizing procedures. Through questioning, discussion, and problem solving, students learn to explain their thinking, make connections, and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems.
Small-Group Learning
Small groups provide students with the opportunity to learn alongside other homeschool students while still receiving individual attention. Students can share ideas, explain different approaches, ask questions, and learn from one another in a supportive environment.
A Math Teacher, Not Just a Tutor
With 10 years of experience teaching mathematics at Challenger School, I bring classroom teaching experience to every session. I assess where students are in their mathematical understanding and provide the appropriate level of support and challenge.
Partnering With Homeschool Families
I understand that every homeschool family has a different approach to education. My goal is to complement what you are already doing, whether you need a complete math class, additional instruction alongside your curriculum, or support in a particular area.
Subjects
